DLAM... The Other Half's Perspective

What does it feel like to see your partner be a part of the classes? We asked Paul to tell us about the changes he's seen in his girlfriend Emma during the time she's been coming to classes.

I have to say personally when I think back to that first day 3 years ago that Emma walked into my Babywearing Dance class, with her tiny little girl I feel overwhelmed with emotion. She was struggling so badly with anxiety and had been seeing her GP for postnatal depression. She actually left before the class started and it took a few weeks of texting each other for me to convince her to come back.

To see in the last 3 years how much she has grown in confidence and how much she now takes care of herself and connects with everyone is just incredible. She's a real inspiration to anyone out there who is finding it hard to make that new mum first step. I'm just so proud of her.

So over to Paul...

“Belly laughs, club bangers & certain acts involving tiny walls? This can mean only one thing – its DLAM time!

Hosted by the wonderful Nikki and team, Dance like a Mother (DLAM to the elites) is a great way to boost confidence, meet new friends and above all have fun and enjoy yourself.

Nikki and the other instructors are all friendly, easy going and committed week in week out to delivering classes in a fun and engaging way even by changing the whole format and bringing the same energy and fun via online Zoom classes which only shows their passion for what they do.

My girlfriend started around 3 years ago and hasn’t looked back since. I'm always impressed by how the classes are well organised and executed. As an outsider, I can see the change in Emma, she comes away from each class motivated and positive which is great and I can’t thank the DLAM team enough for their continued hard work. They motivate her and make her feel part of a family and truly care about each one of their members and it shows. They also have Whatsapp groups, flash mobs (which ARE as cool as they sound) and even appeared on Strictly!

I can’t thank or recommend DLAM enough, get in touch with them they are ace!”

Paul.
